  1. Little Talbot Island State Park

    With more than five miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches, Little Talbot Island is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in Northeast Florida. Maritime forests, desert-like dunes and undisturbed salt marshes on the western side of the island allow for hours of nature study and relaxation. Surrounding surf and tidal streams present excellent fishing for bluefish, striped bass, redfish, flounder, mullet and sheepshead. Other popular park activities include hiking, kayaking, beachcombing, surfing and picnicking.

    Metropolitan Park, located along the beautiful St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville, is the First Coast's premier recreational facility.   3. Veterans Memorial Wall

    The Veterans Memorial Wall is located at 1145 East Adams Street, adjacent to the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The quarter-million dollar monument was dedicated in November, 1995 and serves as a tribute to more than 1,500 Jacksonville area American war heroes.

    The outdoor memorial was promoted as "the largest of its kind" and "the only wall that honors veterans from all six [service] branches" (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine).

    The 65 foot-long black granite monument contains the names of servicemen and women from World War I through Operation Desert Storm and the current war on terrorism. In front of the wall stands a torch with an eternal flame.

    The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, located in Jacksonville, Florida, sits at the mouth of the Trout River. The zoo occupies approximately 117 acres and has over 2,000 animals and 1,000 plants in its collection.

    EverBank Field is located in the Stadium District of Downtown Jacksonville, which has been home to football fields since the early 20th century. Home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and also host to the Annual Florida vs. Georgia college football rivalry game, this stadium is a must-see attraction for any football fan located in Jacksonville.
