MARCILLENA LOMAX, CAMPUS DIRECTOR

Ms. Lomax, moved to Jacksonville from Northern Indiana June 2017.  She joined the CDA family July 2017.  She brings nearly 20 years of post-secondary administration experience and can’t imagine any other career.  Marcillena earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Wittenberg University (OH) in 1995 and her MBA from Indiana University’s Northwest Campus in 2002.
During down time, Marcillena enjoys pedicures, eating chocolate and spending time with her husband, children and granddaughter (not all at the same time). 


ALLEN G. GARBER, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

ALLEN G. GARBER, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER AT CDA TECHNICAL INSTITUTEMr. Garber has been a recreational diver since 1974 and has dived in such places as the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, St. Martin, and the Great Barrier Reef. He holds a BBA from the University of Massachusetts in Marketing with a minor in Civil Engineering. He also holds a USCG operator’s license and has sailed both offshore and competitively. Mr. Garber has been involved in the marine industry for over twenty years and most recently was the Brand Manager & National Sales Manager for a major manufacturer of offshore recreational boats. Mr. Garber directs business development and is responsible for all marketing, recruiting and promotion of CDA Technical Institute.


AMBER JAXON, COMPTROLLER

AMBER JAXON, COMPTROLLER AT CDA TECHNICAL INSTITUTEMs. Jaxon brings several years of bookkeeping experience to CDA. She is currently enrolled in accounting classes at a local college. She maintains all student accounts, ledgers and records. Her duties also comprise compliance with State and Federal accrediting agencies.


SANDRA HOOD, REGISTRAR

SANDRA HOOD, REGISTRAR AT CDA TECHNICAL INSTITUTEMrs. Hood is originally from Dallas, Texas. She brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting and business administration to CDA. She currently serves as the Registrar, handling all student files, grades, attendance, transcripts and diplomas.


CATHY KIMBALL, DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

Ms. Kimball has extensive experience in the financial aid field.  Prior to working at CDA she worked for many years at private and proprietary colleges in Florida and in Maine.  She also worked for several years for one of the Guarantors of federal student loans.  Cathy is a proud graduate of Husson University where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration.  As a first generation college graduate, Cathy is passionate about helping students fulfill their dream of a higher education.  When she is not working, she can be found on the golf course, writing children’s books, or spending quality time with her family and friends.

 


RACHAEL HORMIS, FINANCIAL AID ADMINISTRATOR  

Ms Hormis has extensive experience in the financial aid field. Prior to working at CDA she worked for many years in admissions. Rachael is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Management in December of 2004. Her greatest joy is seeing our students reach for the stars and then get there. Her motto is “Become the Light.” Attention to detail, good listening skills, and great empathy are symbols of appreciation by current students as well as graduates. When she is not working, Rachael can be found volunteering at her local church, working on a book about the power of positivity, or spending quality time with her family and Cocker Spaniel Cooper. 


CRYSTAL MORRIS-WALKER, FINANCIAL AID ADMINISTRATOR

Ms. Morris-Walker has extensive experience in the financial aid field. Prior to working at CDA she worked for Savannah Technical College as a Financial Aid advisor. She also worked Sallie Mae Inc. on the Falcon project.  Crystal is a United States Army veteran. When she is not working she enjoys spending time at the softball field watching the games with her family.

 

 

 

 

ROSEMARIE LORE' - DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

Ms. LoRe’ has been in Academia for many years. Prior to working at CDA she worked in admissions at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and Keiser University in Daytona Beach, Fl.  Ms. Lore' is presently seeking her Bachelor of Science in Phycology at Lesley University. Rosemarie has 3 children and 6 grandchildren so she understand their needs, desires and career aspirations. "My highest achievement is being a mother, nothing else is even close" says Lore'. When she's at home she like to read, run, practice yoga and keep up with her wonderful family. She also has an adorable Airedale, she likes to refer to as "my furry child."

DREW DUFFY, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Mr. Duffy is a Veteran of the USN, serving for nine years as a helicopter crew chief, flight instructor, and trainer. Over the last 14 years, he has worked for post-secondary educational institutions & regional workforce development organizations. He has held assorted positions such as Business Office Manager, Corporate Trainer, Employment Specialist, Employer Liaison and Director of Graduate Services. He is a member of the American Welding Society and an active player in the Northeast Florida Section. Mr. Duffy was recruited to CDA because of his welding industry and educational experience and is currently the Admissions Specialist for the Maritime Welding Program. His duties include recruiting and placement assistance.


SCOTT LEVINE, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE 

Mr. Levine is originally from Massachusetts.  He moved to Jacksonville, FL to attend Jacksonville University, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Management.  He has over 6 years of experience in the educational field.  He is currently an Admissions Representative with CDA Technical Institute.  He enjoys working with students, servicing them through the admissions process, watching them graduate and pursue their career objectives.


ANDREW STALEY, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Mr. Staley is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He has well over 5 years of customer service, as well as co-owning his own Coffee house with his Family. He has also worked in collections where he excelled in working in extreme and diverse conditions. He also played semi pro football for two years, and has Coached middle school football for two Duval County Private schools. He currently guides future students through the enrollment process and helps them with any questions on the industry, as well as certifications.

 

LARRY WILLIAMS, ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

In 2008, Mr. Williams launched a second career after retiring from FedEx after 14 years of service. He now has worked in acedmic recruitment for over 20 years. Prior to joining the CDA team, he worked as an Admissions Director and VP of Admissions as well as a Admission Represenitive.  Mr. Williams earned a Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Management from Florida Metropolitan University.   Mr. Williams has a passion for helping adults to realize the possibilities of achieving success through education and training.  Larry enjoys cycling and spending time with his family, when he is not working.

 

LORI AMSDELL, ADMISSION COORDINATOR

Ms. Lori relocated from Pittsburgh to Jacksonville in 2013 to escape the nasty winters.  She has worked in admissions since she arrived in Jacksonville.  Her objective is to help students reach their goals and potential.   She is a proud graduate of West Virginia University where she graduated in broadcasting journalism.  When Lori is not working you can find her at the beach, out dancing with her friends, watching football or spending time with her daughter.  

DR. CHARLES SCANLON, CAREER SERVICES

Dr. Charles Scanlon has 33 years of experience in public and private school education. Dr. Scanlon served as an Administrator at all three levels in public school education and has 27 years of experience as a school level administrator.  He has a Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in Organizational Leadership, a Specialists degree from Valdosta State University in Educational Administration, a Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Educational Leadership, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan in history and political science. He has worked as a high school varsity coach in football, wrestling, softball, baseball and  basketball throughout his career.  He is married to his high school sweetheart, Mrs. Wendy Scanlon, and lives on Amelia Island. 

RICHARD FEGELEY, RETAIL GENERAL MANAGER

Mr. Fegeley was originally from Jacksonville, Florida, but grew up in New Jersey where his love for the water began. Throughout his grade school years he was a state swimmer and would work the weekends at a local marina. He moved back to Jacksonville to attend college where he majored in Business with a minor in Marketing. He brings 17 years of experience in Customer Service and Retail Management. For the last 10 years, he has been involved in recreational scuba. Currently he holds the title Director of Operations for The National Academy of Scuba Educators (NASE Worldwide). Richard strives to be a positive contributor to lives of the students at CDA. He believes in enhancing their experience during free time and after school through Scuba.

SHARLAYNE SCOTT, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Sharlayne Brown Scott moved to Jacksonville from Charlotte, North Carolina; September of 2017. She joined the CDA family as Executive Assistant the same month. Her background is in Early Childhood Education Directorship and Home Healthcare Management. Being that she is a people-person, her favorite past-time is hanging out with her husband/family, traveling, event planning and helping others


TABITHA WHEELER, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Tabitha Wheeler, Executive Assistant, moved to Jacksonville from Hamilton County Florida September 2016. She joined the CDA family January 2018. She bring 18 years of administrative experience of  which 15 years were spent as a Communications Officer/ 911 Dispatcher.  During down time, Tabitha enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
